Uncle from Malaysia!
|
|
Yeay!Uncle Alun n family are here!
Alhamdulillah....my brother n his family arrived safely and the kids , especially, were really excited to get to meet their cousins after 2 years! It's funny though when Batrisya, the second one, asked her parents ; "Siapa Maksu?" . Well of course, she was too young to know her aunt when we came here.
Glad too that the goodies from Malaysia were in good condition.Got serunding, tempoyak, Raya biscuits..and most of all, the 'sarung ketupat'(made of coconut leaves) .This coming Raya would be a blast one!

School begins!
|
|
School in UK starts in September. This year, Sarah and Myra are in high school and Misya is in year 4 in primary/junior school. Little Damia starts her nursery as well! She was so eager and excited to go to school...and guess what?As soon as I had to leave her behind with her teacher, she cried and screamed!!!
I can't blame her...she's too young...way too young compared with her sisters to start school. She's only 3 years old...and being surrounded with strangers(especially whites!) would definitely scared her. It broke my heart to watch her crying...What if she didn't stop crying? What if she's too scared? What if she's been left totally alone by herself?
Well...after 2 and a half hours wondering and thinking about my dear princess..as soon as I fetched her at school...she was smiling...and trying hard to tell me about her friends, rabbit, toys, teachers...every single thing about her school.....in of course her own english babyish language!

BBQ- Cosmeston Lake
|
|
Marjan and my hubby were friends since they were in high school. Even when we were in ITM, Arau, both of them were roommates. They still contacted each other after we graduated....lost contact for a while when we're in America..but he managed to come to our wedding after we got back home.Since then, we used to meet and that's when I met and knew his wife, Min. Our friendship remains strong ever since...and when I got a place to study in UK...you can just imagine how glad my husband was as his buddy is in UK as well!
They came to Cardiff last weekend. The kids were of course thrilled and glad to meet their best friends...A teapot of coffee helped those two buddies to stay up late, chatting, sharing stories and ideas while their wives would rather prefer to get a good night rest after a tiring day.... Looking at our children sometimes reminds me of those old memories...My, oh my...how time flies! The kids have grown so much...and those two dads are way totally different now!

Neighbours...
|
|
"Mom...it's time now!"
"Time? What time?"
"Time for us to play...OUTSIDE, of course!"
"Oh, well! Be back on time...and don't be late!Understand?"
Playing outside is their routine now that the weather is great these days...plus the long daylight during summer(sunset is only at around 9pm). As much as I am concerned and worried of their safety playing and running around with their friends, I could not just let them stay in the house the whole day, could I?

Caernarfon, Wales
|
|
We went to Caernarfon, North Wales last weekend.. The spectacular scenery stole our heart. It was as if we're in the real English country with amazing landscape and beautiful cottages with superb garden. Sheeps are of course, everywhere! Believe it or not, the number of sheep in Wales outnumber the people population.Caernarfon is just nearby the Snowdon National Park.We took a stream train...a lakeside trip along the shores of Padarn Lake at the foot of Snowdon. Had a picnic...the girls enjoyed themselves running and playing as the weather was really awesome!

London
|
|
We went to London last weekend. This time, we explored the city by tube. It's really fun, though pretty tiring! The girls, of course, were really excited..Lil' Damia was enjoying herself even without having her short nap as usual. We stopped by at few interesting spots...Big Ben, London Eye, Buckingham Palace...but the highlight of this trip was of course...the KFC halal!!!It's been like ages since the last time we had this meal and we were really glad...I mean REALLY,REALLY GLAD when we had the chance to grab this food! There are still more places to go in this big city....Thank goodness, we're coming back here again this September!

Another year older?!!
|
|
Hmmm....another year older!
What more could I wish for than having more faith, love and wisdom throughout this journey. Received loads of lovely and thoughtful wishes from my dear family in Malaysia and friends via Facebook, sms, E-greeting etc. I was so touched by the girls' creativity in preparing me the special 'Dr- to -be' card .Thank you, girls! To my dear husband, I love you even more!

Happy Birthday, Tok!
|
|
We celebrated her birthday a bit earlier...She loves satay so I cooked my version of 'satay kajang' (ha!ha!), 'kuah kacang' , 'nasi himpit' and 'cucur badak'. There were other food as well...fried 'beehoon', curry puff and 'kuih bakar' prepared by my mother-in-law and zu's mom. It's even awesome when we had barbequed mussels which were really sweet, juicy and of course delicious! Bought her a handset as a birthday gift..
Mak,
You became my Mother the day I wed your son,
And I just want to thank you for the lovely things you've done.
You raised in Love the gracious man with whom I share my life.
You are his lovely mother and I'm his lucky wife
Thank you for teaching him truth
Thank you for teaching him love
The concern and care he shows me
Are things I prize in his life
It is indeed true that, if he honors his Mother
A son will honor his wife
Happy Birthday, mak!

SMILE
|
|
Smile though your heart is aching
Smile even though it's breaking
When there are clouds in the sky, you'll get by
If you smile through your fear and sorrow
Smile and maybe tomorrow
You'll see the sun come shining through for you
Light up your face with gladness
Hide every trace of sadness
Although a tear may be ever so near
That's the time you must keep on trying
Smile, what's the use of crying?
You'll find that life is still worthwhile
If you just smile
[youtube]
I started to admire this song ever since I heard it during Michael's memorial service which was aired recently. Really love this song..touches my heart deeply and inspires me to keep on smiling and trying...no matter what!
