Camping in Cornwall

We had a fabulous vacation last 4 days camping in Cornwall. The scenery was fantastic, amazing and beautiful!Furthermore, the camping site was equipped with the necessary facilities (toilet, electricity, water etc) and the best thing for the kids was the swimming pool.We really enjoyed ourselves and had fun spending our nights in the tent. We went to several beaches(there are actually 12 beaches in Cornwall!) and of course the Land's End( the most westerly tip of the southern mainland in UK). The narrow road(I mean really, really narrow!!) gave us a new experience(matches with the road name: Mousehole ) .I wish we can have a camping site in Malaysia just like in UK....if only the facilities are well provided..I'm sure many of us would love to go for camping. It's really a good family outing... a closer relationship among the family members can be built..and most of all...it teaches us especially the children to love and nurture the earth.Girls! We'll definitely go camping again!!!SOON!!Right, papa?!

Carboot Sale!

Carboot sale in Sully
Buying something, Sarah?
I'd rather sleep....
View all 6 photos...
Car boot sales are mainly British market whereby people sell new goods or no longer wanted personal possessions. It's famous among Malaysians as this is the place where we can get goods with really cheap prices.Although the goods are considered as 'second-hand', the condition is still excellent as British people are well known to be 'spring-cleaning' their houses every seasons. Therefore, they prefer to have new furniture and other stuffs in their house and will get rid their things by selling them in carboot.Normally, I will only buy things which are less than £3...sometimes, it's good to bargain as some of these people(especially traders!) tend to fix unreasonable prices...Well, it's shopping heaven for us and we usually try not to miss it every week...

Little Damia is two! Well actually, her birthday was on the 26th of May but due to my heavy work loads, we got to postpone the party a bit later. We celebrated Misya's birthday as well as her birthday is just around the corner. We had BBQ,Kebab, Lasagna, Potato salad, Laksa and some desserts. Thanx to Aiza and Zuha for helping me preparing the food. The children had so much fun!...and so did the parents especially the guys...hmmmm...wonder what were the hot topics they had at the backyard?!!!

We went to Surrey again and this time we took the children to the London Zoo.It's amazing to have a zoo in the middle of a big city of London.Thought it would be a small one but each of us was really tired by the end of the trip.It was our first time looking at the gorilla...of course the kids tried hard enough making noises and sounds to attract the animal's attention.Basically, the surrounding was clean and the animals were very well taken care of...well,it's really nice wandering around in a zoo where there wasn't any unpleasant smell.....

Yeay!!!Disneyland!!!!
The laughter and sparkling smiles of the kids shed away our tiredness of the long journey to Paris. It's great to watch them happy..after all..every kids wish to be in this place. This was the 2nd time in Disneyland for Sarah and Myra(they've been to Disneyland,LA) but a new experience for Misya and her little sis;Damia. They took pictures with the cartoon characters and rode all the wonderful rides.Misya was really, really excited to be with Princess Aerial(the Mermaid).Damia might be too young to enjoy like her sisters but I knew she's having a great time by looking at her face.We spent 4 days there and we also managed to go to Eiffel Tower.Frankly..my husband and I were laughing at each other as soon as we reached there..hey,what is so romantic about this place, huh?!(cantik lagi Petronas Twin Tower kita kan, bang?) Anyway..we had a fabulous vacation in Paris...loved the beautiful scenery..the highway reminded us of US...however,communication was a bit problem...most of them prefer to speak in France rather than English..well, we did learn a few words....Merci, Bonjour and a few more(can't really remember at this moment!)

St David's Day

Cardiff Castle

View all 11 photos...
St David's Day is celebrated on the 1st March every year.Parades are held in Wales to commemorate St. David. There was a parade along the street in city centre...best of all,we've got to go in the Cardiff Castle for FREE! It has such a magnificent view and nearly 2,000 years of Cardiff's history . A lot of activities was held on that day.Sarah tried on the rock climbing which has proven that she's not talented in climbing! Myra might be better (as she loves doing boy's stuff!)but was not allowed due to her height....Many Malaysians turned up...and at the end of the day...rushing to the Chicken Cottage(the only halal restaurant in city centre) to have our meals....

Welsh Life Museum

Welsh Life Museum
with aunty Ju
Love this house
View all 12 photos...
We've moved to a new place in Canton. We've had hard times staying in the university house in Talybont that we decided to move out from there. There was no parking space and no telephone line which means that we were not able to have the internet at home! It's difficult for me being a student without having the internet...Well,we've found a better house, although it's further from the university. It's alright with me...at least the walking would help me to burn the calories! .Anyway, we've got to share the house with a friend of mine who has recently sent back her children to Msia. She showed us the way to the Welsh Life Museum. It was awesome! The outdoor concept of this museum was interesting and I really think that it should be done the same way in Msia....It's fun to know the history of the Welsh people . The kids enjoyed themselves while learning the history...

Ice-skating!

Excited to skate!
With Uncle Marjan
Sarah & Myra
View all 10 photos...
Our friend,Min went back to Msia for two weeks leaving behind her family in Surrey. So, they spent a few days at our place. We took the children for ice-skating at the city centre. It was really fun!Our girls have been asking for it for million times...so when we took them there...you can just imagine how excited they were! They were a bit nervous and had hard times falling on the ice floor...but eventually, the three of them have mastered the skating skills....I can say that Myra was the best...might be because she has been using her roller blades back home in msia before.

The kids had a christmas show. They have been practicing, rehearsing and memorizing all this times.Glad to see they're coping very well with their friends in school. The act and songs were more on how christians celebrated christmas during the old days....so, Saiful and I had to have a serious conversation with the kids after the performance. We told them that none of the words or lyrics should be taken into our lives as Islam is the ONE and ONLY true religion! Well, I can say that this is a part of the challenges on bringing up children in this country...

Marjan and his family came to Cardiff..it's their first time here. The kids had a blast time with their friends from Surrey...lucky enough, there was a firework show that night and it could be clearly seen from our backyard. All of us were excited! The next day, we took them to Cardiff Bay.Cardiff Bay is a vast freshwater lake with a number of attractions such as the Techniquest Science Discovery Centre , Craft in the Bay, The Welsh Assembly etc. Mady, Ros and their kids(they've been in Cardiff for 5 years!) went with us too. That night, we had pizza and fried chicken which we bought from one of the halal fast food restaurants.....
